Type of Water: flat water
Overview of this section: The river from siggelkov park to cutshaw access is shallow sandy and wooded with few dwellings visible from a boat. Great section for beginners to learn to read the sandbars and maneuver around numerous stickups.Nice quiet paddle with the chance of seeing whitetail deer, turkeys, eagles, hawks, and other smaller animals. From cutshaw access to littleton there are numerous cabins and farm houses and more human activity along the river.
Hazard and Rapids: Logjam just downstream from cutshaw access. Takeout at littleton is only 30-40 feet above the lowhead dam
Camping?: siggelkov park
Other Launches?: c57/cedar wapsie road 2.5 river miles down from siggelkov park. c66/dunkerton road 4.5 river miles down form c/57. Wapsie bend access 1.0 river mile down from c66. Cutshaw access 4.0 river miles down from wapsie bend access
Overall opinion of this section: Great! Narrow, winding, wooded, section of the wapsie that's just right for a new paddler to get the practice and experience they need.
