"Sticks In The Water Paddling Group" is an idea that is moving toward reality.

We believe that there are a lot of paddlers, and potential paddlers, within on-hour driving time of the intersection of I380 and Hwy 30. That includes Johnson, Linn, and Jones Counties, plus the surrounding area in Eastern Iowa.

And we believe that an informal paddling group would provide the network for those paddlers to enjoy a lot more time on the water.

We are intentionally maintaining a broad focus on our geographic location, on all types of paddling, on all types of boats, and on the range of environmental, safety, regulatory, etc. issues which may be of interest to paddlers. As an informal group, we will expect each participant to recognize that paddling includes some inherent risks, and be responsible for the safety of themselves and their family.

Whether you're an experienced paddler with skills and experience to share, or whether you're a novice paddler looking to learn from others, we hope that you will accept our invitation to join in the fun.
