I embrace winter. Will be camping out this weekend (2-6/7) by Big Springs Trout Hatchery. We have a couple of caves we're pushing and checking out other leads.
I get a kick out of people complaigning about Iowa winters. I tell them that I pray for snow.

Yes, forgive me, but some people seem to just take up space and offer nothing to their communities and enviroment. They are just plain ignorant, you are right. People won't understand or miss what we have (left) until it's gone for good. We are really really good at killing stuff though. _________________ Paddle Plannage(next 20): Beaver Creek 8-4 (Polk County), Rathbun, Middle Raccoon (Coon Rapids), South Raccoon Overnighter (2nd week August)

Totally aggree with you SW, people look at me crazy cuz I get so excited when we are forcasted to get alot of snow. Snow means snowmobiling, sledding, and drift busting! How is that not fun?!
Big Springs on the Turkey, eh? Nice. We camp right across from there in Frieden Park a few times a summer. Careful, Clayton County in hillbilly country; I'd start running if you hear banjos! _________________ http://picasaweb.google.com/theriverofeden |

Looks like the CAVE people are coming out- Constantly Against Virtually Everything.
I love all 4 seasons- it would be boring otherwise. I look forward to snowstorms, they keep things interesting. I can't paddle with frozen streams, but at least I can go skiing this time of year. _________________ A ship in a harbor is safe- but that's not what ships are for. |

CAVE people is a great acronym.

I feel sorry for the canoers then, lol.
Where are the caves up there? Campground end? Hatchery side? or elsewhere? _________________ http://picasaweb.google.com/theriverofeden |

We have 3 up and over the hill from the hatchery where we'll be camping. There's 2 on the hill behind the Ranger's house. There's sink holes and caves all over the place.
